2-Hour Road Repair: How Our VAE RDP and Low-Viscosity HPMC Achieve Rapid Traffic-Ready Strength

Accelerated systems often sacrifice workability or long-term durability. The Rapid Repair Balancing Act

  • Speed vs. Workability: Calcium aluminate or accelerated systems set so fast the mortar stiffens in the mixer. Workers rush, and compaction suffers.
  • Speed vs. Bond: Rapid hydration often consumes water needed for a good bond to old concrete, leaving a weak, dusty interface.
  • Speed vs. Durability: Fast-setting mortars shrink more and crack. Without polymer, the repair fails within months.

Our ultra-low viscosity HPMC allows a self-leveling consistency at a water/cement ratio as low as 0.30–0.32. It disperses instantly, even during rapid continuous mixing, and holds enough water to hydrate cement quickly while allowing fast drying.

2. VAE RDP for Instant Bond and Shrinkage Compensation
Our VAE powder forms a polymer film that provides immediate adhesive grip to the prepared concrete edge, preventing early-edge lifting. The film also bridges the micro-shrinkage cracks that form during rapid water loss, maintaining integrity throughout the service life.

Performance in an Airport Repair
